Christmas Stocking Work Bee....

After the morning meeting on November 10th, 2009

It’s a Christmas Stocking Work Bee…

What is a work bee?  It’s a beehive of activities making

something for others to help make their Christmas

brighter through your generosity.

Yes, it’s that time of year already to start thinking

about our annual assistance by making a

Christmas Stocking  for children and adults having

to spend their Christmas time at a Transition House.

What to bring

Ø Sewing machine, your sewing machine peddle and

extension cord

Ø Sewing supplies such as thread, pins, needles, scissors etc.

Ø Rotary cuter, mat, (spare blade just in case) and ruler

Ø Two -13 X 19 inch pieces of fabric for stockings preferably

Christmas material but anything will work.

Remember these will be for Christmas stockings

Ø Two - 13 X 19 inch pieces of fabric for lining

Ø 19 inches of lace for top, at least 2 ½  inches wide or your

choice how to decorate the top edge, fun fur etc. works

great or contrasting fabric for the top edge will work

Ø 27 inches of double fold -  extra wide - bias tape

(1 pkg is enough for a couple of stockings)

Ø anything else you think you’d like to decorate your

stocking it’s your choice.

Ø Trims such as lace, rick rack, etc work fine to decorate

if you choose to do that.

Ø I have some piping I can share for the stockings and

it’s WYSIWYG

Ø I’ll have patterns cut out to share with you

Ø Do you have any small items we can add to the stockings?

E.g. soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo samplers, etc.

Please bring them along to help fill the stockings

Add them into box for filling the stockings
